Safety starts at home

image598

Always lock your doors and windows.

image599

Be careful hiding keys outside your home.

People who want in ... know where to look.  Put your keys in a glass jar and bury it, or find another way to make your keys difficult to find.  If your fake rock is in an obvious place, it will be found.

Add Motion Detection Lights

Ensure they are high and out of reach.

image601

Get a monitored alarm system such as ADT (#2 in the world)

Post sign out front and use window decals.

image602

Install cameras on the inside AND outside of your home

image603

Keep entrance to residence clear of clutter, no hiding places

image604

Use simple timers to turn lights off and on throughout the day

This is especially helpful when you are on vacation to make it look like someone is home.

image605

Never answer the door without knowing who it is.

image606

Post "Beware of Dog" sign.

image607

When you go on vacation, or if you see suspicious activity, put your house on a watch list. Call the Sheriff's Office at (423) 622-0022. Ask to create a CAD card.
